Ariana Grande Tells What Exes Thought Of Thank U, Next
Ariana Grande has revealed she recorded three versions of her smash hit, Thank U, Next, because of her up and down relationship with comedian Pete Davidson.
The 25-year-old told The Zach Sang Show that in one version she marries former fiance, Davidson. The pair split up after five months of dating.
“In my relationship at the time, things were up and down and on and off, and so I didn’t know what was gonna happen,” she said. “And then we got back together, so I had to make a different version of it, and then we broke up again, so we ended up going with that version.”
“There was a version where I was getting married, there’s a version where I’m not getting married, there’s a version with nothing — (where) we’re not talking about anything,” she said.
Grande lists four people she had significant relationships with including Big Sean, back-up dancer Ricky Alvarez, rapper Mac Miller and Davidson.
“It was really funny. (Sean) was like, ‘Damn, I’m the first one, huh?’ And I was like, ‘I mean, I went kind of in order!” But yeah, he was very supportive. He loved it,” she said. “But Ricky was like, ‘Why’d I get the worst line?’” And I was like, ‘What do you mean?!’ He was like, ‘Everyone else’s line is so nice, and mine is like, ‘Man, f**k him. He’s trash.” I was like, ‘I could’ve said that!’”
